Recently climbing was one of the sports that was chosen to be included as a new discipline for the upcoming 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. For this reason, this practice has caused added enthusiasm among the athletes of the City of New York  and participation has grown in regard to this sport through small local competitions in local climbing gyms.

Simultaneously, and because of the competitive spirit that fuels sports competitions, some people have come together to create small climbing groups. But the Borough of Manhattan has become the first to really implement a strategy of participation towards this sport within its community. That is why "Skywalkers - Climbing Community" was born. The first and only official group of climbers in the Borough of Manhattan and in the city of New York…so far.
